I created the headline so search engines find it easier. We'll see.
Rick and Dorothy partnered personally and professionally from 1995 to 2025. Their unique duet featured one of them on 88-key piano while the other managed the bass, percussion, lead solo instruments on a portable keyboard ensemble. Vocals and singalongs were often part of the show. Dorothy transitioned to the quantum-spiritual-realm QSR in January 2025 and she lives on electronically here and via quantum synchronicity winks to Rick from the beyond Email: rick_potvin@yahoo.com

Rick on piano-keyboard-vocal with Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On
I think of this tune whenever big changes are occurring. Here I am at Madison Meadow Retirement Village in Phoenix on Sunday, Jan., 22 2016, a day when family members are visiting their aging relatives. You can hear Dorothy doing shout-outs in the background. She played the second half hour of our show as well as the prelude-- the period before the show.

Here's a combination that works for birthday hours. Dorothy leads a singalong if I'm on the piano and vice versa. I'll be adding Stevie Wonder's Happy Birthday to Ya... as part of a package. I might also add For (s)He's a Jolly Good Fellow.

Other songs that refer to age might be added to this birthday set. Sinatra's When I was 17 comes to mind. Or A Thousand Years. As well "I Fall to Pieces".

I've been working on the railroad - Rick live...
This rendition done by me in live performance could be considered a variation on the original for a lot of reasons. It's true to the original intention of the song however. I used an acoustic grand piano which delivered the real-live sound to the audience, along with a keyboard for bass and drums n my left. I was too busy operating this set-up to sing this time but I might try combing vocal next time.

Mekong Plaza Restaurant / Buddhist Vegetarian New Year
mekong plaza restaurant - Google Search
The car we're now using is an updated 1997 Ford Escort because the 1996 Ford Taurus collapsed on me last August-- both the motor and the transmission. The Escort is smaller but I still managed to fit in all our gear to do our gigs. There is more road noise and the 4 cylinder engine can be heard much more than the 6 in the Taurus. On the freeway, I run it at about 67 mph. Many of the newer and bigger cars and other types of vehicles on the road these days run about 75 mph so it's a bit crazy.

When I bought this Escort, it ran and looked good but as things evolved, it needed work... a substantial amount actually. I paid for it out of my personal credit when I really should have used car-credit from a car-company. I always bought cars for cash not thinking to apply for car-credit. Now I'm trying for more car-credit for my next car if this Escort goes down on me.
