C-Note Blues, Oscar Peterson
[Stride Listening Lesson, ending with Oscar doing CNote Blues you heard here] By rick... You have to listen to do. It's no good taking "piano lessons" without listening. You'll spin your wheels for years a bit like I did. You have to start by knowing some chords, and singing a bit and by listening. It's okay to listen to material beyond your level... as Peterson above. It's inspirational and if you can do 1/1000 of his skill level, you're still good to go. Click on the discussion above and take each video in, as I've posted several lesson videos by various teachers on "stride". If you listen all the way through, clicking on each link, that'll be your listening lesson for today. If you're inspired to then play something, great. If not, sleep on it. What you put in will eventually come out one way or another.
