Bumble Boogie - Dorothy - Jan. 2014

Hit the Road Jack - Rick in January 2014.

Here's the car Dorothy and me "hit the road" in when we did gigs in 2014. By 2014, I think we were doing retirement homes in the Phoenix area. George and Sons gig had ended. The Taurus was on it's 2nd engine. The transmission fluid had not been changed at 95,000 miles. I was unaware of the neccessity of changing tranny fluid. Stupid stupid stupid me. This car was amazing while it lasted-- 3.8 L which was BIGGER than the other 3.0 L... plush velvet seats, great stereo-- and lots of room made me feel like a real man on the freeways of Phoenix despite the car being 20 years old. Amazing. But I apparently didn't understand the finer technical service requirements and deterioration schedule. It sits parked in my driveway now awaiting a windfall profit scenario in which I can "reanimate" it. In the meantime, I start it up every day and listen to 93.5 for the song that tells me what it's thinking. Yeah-- right I know-- that's nuts. But it acknowledges the idea that that car MIGHT be "alive".... like "Christine", the car in the horror movie-- but in a positive spiritual sense.
